SPAM

LE is coming!!!  Yeah!!  We plan to go see Spam Alot at TheaterFest.  This will give us weeks of one-liners...

Update:  The cancer was stage 2 ...into the wall of the cervix...but I am  healing well I think.  I will have 3 radiation treatments a week apart when I am healed.  This is preventative ...so I am in a really good place.  I am soooo lucky.  I am also lucky to have such supportive family and friends....Thank you.

I am really loving the SEWN online class by Mary Ann Moss over at http://dispatchfromla.typepad.com  She is amazing...she just keeps the fun coming....  Here are some of my pattern papers.

Me Me Me

I think I am healing pretty well.  I had gallbladder and uterus removed but not sure what else...I finally got a call from a doctor...not mine... that told me that my lymph nodes were clear...so that was good to hear.  I wanted to post all the info...but I don't know anything else that is for sure at this time.   I see the 3 dr this week so I should have more info after that.

OK on a lighter note....LE came Wed. and it was so good to see her and all be together.  LE, Jill and I got away Fri. and went to Lompoc to Michael's and had lunch.  That was really a nice first outing.  So Earl, LE and I went to Lone Ranger  that evening.  I rested all today.  Maybe some studio time tomorrow.

This was the most fun on July 4th Mary Ann Moss launched her new online class SEWN.  It is really awesome!!! Spent most of the 4th painting patterns for up coming project...so much fun!!!

This is the cutest little angel that Judy Nilsen sent me ...I love it.   I have other healing artwork I will post later...I am so lucky to have so many thoughtful friends.....

So Fri. I saw Alexis from RHWOC and her family in Los Olivos....anyone out there watch that reality show but me....no I am not proud of it.

OK back to me.....

It has been a roller coaster month. One of the highs was a fun filled day with Pam Garrison, Mary Ann Moss and Mary Stanley in Santa Barbara doing fun art and some show and tell. The time went way too fast but it was so great to get to know MAM. She is so cool and brimming with wit and great ideas and insight. We got to see some samples from her upcoming online class...SEWN ,,,really cool! I can hardly wait until it starts. (btw...sign up starts today)

...on the down side, I found out Monday I need a hysterectomy. I am scheduled for June 24...and while they have me on the table, I am getting my troublesome gallbladder out too....just need to add a few more "ports" that means holes. Hope I can do some art while recouping...I am so full of ideas right now...

Happy Place...

This month is mostly about Miss M. She had her dance performance, went to Disneyland and tomorrow is the last day of Preschool...I am sure going to miss those long days of preschool Thursdays. I did teach at Art from Scrap and all the students had great ideas and did cool stuff.

More on moms

I am not sure why I am so emotional this Mother's Day. I do have a few ideas but anyway I wanted to wish happy Mother's Day to the non traditional moms. Such as caregivers best friends neighbors and even tender hearted brothers. When mom died Steve stepped in to pick up her banner she waved for me. We could relive family memories without boring anyone. It was very motherly. I miss them both so much. So I wish you all happy Mother's Day. Keep sending the love.

Mothers Day and stuff

I got my little box of heaven back Wed. So many great treasures. Thanks all of you talented artists! Honored to be a part of this group! If anyone one lives near Cottonwood trees...you have my sympathy...I live on Cottonwood Street! And when the wind starts it is like snow outside...Not good for allergies... I always like to post this photo of me and Mom...We always loved going to the beach.... And here is a new mother. There were 5 babies the day I took this at the miniature horse ranch near me...so cute!! I always thought the look on Jill's face showed what it feels like to be a new mom.

Spring

I am feelin' good tonight.....I got some good results from a health scare, went and saw Oblivion and enjoyed it and it was a beautiful Spring day. I even got my car washed.... Madison was full of fun today....we did so many things in such a small amount of time...a puzzle, danced...her not me...set up a fruit store, found Barbies that she named Mom and Grandma, took care of a sleepy bear, a couple art project...that can't really be described, made a few booby traps, went in the wading pool, kicked the ball around, played with Clementine from next door, played some on line games and bedazzled ourselves with stick on jewels....wonder why I am so tired....love that girlI had a fun paper mache class this month at the Art Clinic and this Sat I will have a collage project day...Always fun and stress free to play with paper. I am wrapping up my astronomy classes with the Valley third graders and I am getting things lined up for Art in the Park, starting in May in Los Olivos. There have been some good days and delightful people at the Art Hus this month and I just had my big social event here...a yard sale...always entertaining....Madison and I are planning our Wed. beach days starting after school with some swimming lessons thrown in. I have a class at Art from Scrap coming up and a trip to Disneyland to celebrate someone turning 5. Madison has a dance performance on the 18th.... No wonder the month go so fast. Hope you are all enjoying good weather and have fun plans for summer.

Denise you are amazing!

Wow what a surprise to be thumbing thru a magazine and find an article with pictures about the workshop we went to in France last year ....Denise you are amazing...It was so fun to be your tablemate and swap stories. You really captured the great time we all had with the talented and fun Julie Arkel. btw We are coming back in Sept to take another amazing class at Les Soeurs Anglaises....can't wait!! If you ever want to really feel pampered this is the place. I can't imagine a better time can be had...

OAXACA...love that place!!

We had a wonderful class and a wonderful time in beautiful Oaxaca...The Whole Enchilada Workshop and Tour was great. Met new artists, ate great food, saw amazing things and laughed alot. I call that success. I have lots of pics on my flickr link but I will post some here too. It was fun to see Mary experience all Oaxaca's treasures for the first time. I saw new things and as always found fun art. The textile museum was new for me. It had an amazing show of stilt dancers and their garments.
