Happy Birthday Jill!

We had a fun day. Took Maddie to the park then looked at some new baby stores in town. Really cute both of them. June Bug has local artists and Marmalade Sky has fun lines of clothes I had never seen before. Then to lunch. The sushi place was not open so we went to the Belgian Cafe...always good. Maddie almost fell asleep before we got there so anticipating some crabiness...Jill set up the nano thing with the 3 little pigs on it.....It's a new world....
I babysat later so Jill and Joe could go to dinner. They went to Root 246 and had a really good time. Maddie and I watch Tinker Bell after which I got her to put on the Tink outfit...so cute! Jill got to meet the chef and they signed the menu. She took pictures of everything and was even impressed by the water and pat of butter!
I had a sale at ArtBrut and I am working on some new stuff. These are the piece I did in Jesse Reno's class that I am revamping to see if John will like it at the gallery.

Other than that we are busy getting Earl ready for his road trip to the east coast and getting the house tented ....That is going to be a real pain.... Then I am going to St. Louis, MO to a Mary Engelbriet art workshop. This is such a treat for me. I have been an admirer of her work and ideas for so long. I will get to see my buddy Charlotte too! I just wish we had more time to see the area while we are there...Oh well...
Tomorrow I am going with Mary and Colleen to Pasadena. We are visiting a fun shop, Zinnia and some side trips. Fun, fun, fun!

Easter

So fun to have someone finding Easter eggs again.....She had such a fun time.
Joe found a way to speed things up....

I went to the Art from Scrap Art of Play show yesterday. I thought it was really a fun show. I sold 2 pieces. This is one of Penny's...She did several great pieces.

This is one of Judy's...very cool.

I also got a new phone. The Palm Pre...I love it! I got it for the tax cost only. My contract was up and it just worked out great.

...more ArtFest

I love Maxine's in Seattle and it happens to be around the corner from LE....

I had amazing students in my Trees of Mystery class. I was so inspired by what they did.

This is my "Iron Chef" piece. I made a 3D item from a bag of stuff every artist in this event got. They gave us 45 minutes but I was not really done. Drying time with glues and paint was my enemy....But I think it was a really good idea!

LE and I took Jesse Reno ...

...and Melissa Manley....both amazing classes.

I did some fun trades...Tara Ross and I traded painting. I always love her stuff.

Francie Horten made these crazy fun cupcakes. I love it!

This is Nancy Drew's fun car....Barbie is starting to age...
I have still not completely unpacked so I will have more photos coming...

I am almost ready...

or should I say I am out of time....We had a Trees of Mystery class last week and everyone made cool stuff.

So I am excited and ready to have a great class at ArtFest next week. Mary and I hit the road Sunday and will be in Portland at Joley's Mon. and Seattle at LE's Tues and in the magical place, Port Townsend, on Wed. We will be staying in an officers house again with the gang.
I will miss some important stuff here like Madison's 2nd birthday...we will party hardy when I get back, an important meeting of the local artists guild and the reception for the Art of Play Show at Art from Scrap in Santa Barbara but......that is the way I roll...everything happens at the same time with huge gaps of nothing in between...

So here is one more look at my little love Madison....
