Want to see something really pretty?

This is Susan's little paintings that she gave me. I can't believe it. With her family chomping at the bit for her work. I was the lucky recipient! Are they not great!

Trip to Ojai

Yesterday, Colleen, Susan and I went to Ojai. We visited a potter that is a friend of Susan's family, Otto Heino. He is a world famous potter that is best known for the creation of a pale yellow glaze that is really impressive in person.
It is the color of pale butter. We made stops in Ventura and Ojai downtown with a great lunch at Mimi's in Ventura with Maili, Melissa and Melissa M. Melissa got me this great crown. It will be great for some queen of arts promoting.
Look at the great fabric from Colleen's trip to Viet Nam.
This is an example of Colleen's colorful needle felting.
This is a canvas I am working on. It will probably end up a background...I am waiting for inspiration....
Here is the latest update at the ART CLINIC. This Saturday is our first class.

I feel like I am the zine queen. Last week I got my issue of Heather and Joleen's Portals Zine that I am also in. Thank you Heather and Joleen. I am so happy!

when you are starting a new business. How can you be creative and Susie Homemaker?

But Carol and I are making some great art and examples for the classes. And we are getting the place to look more like a studio than a storage unit.

Art day is Thursday if any one is in the area...come by.

*Metal Clay is 99.9% Pure Fine Silver which has been finely ground and mixed with an organic binder which produces a clay-like material.  When fired, the binder burns away and the silver solidifies.  This clay can be sculpted, carved, stamped, cast, virtually manipulated anyway that you can work traditional clay.  If you have a desire to create beautiful pieces in silver without the need for a silversmith’s tools or experience.

** “Visual journaling is a creative way to respond to an internal, very personal situation in traditional sketchbooks, or through nontraditional works of art that include both text and imagery." -Michael Bell
Or it can also just be as simple as random images and colors that are pleasing to look at.

Art Clinic Course description for after school slot

At the Art Clinic we often hear people complain that they want to make art but never had any art training, and we hear parents telling us that they want there sons and daughters to have more art opportunities. We believe that there are therapeutic benefits from youngsters working with older students, so long as everyone respects everyone else's time. These after school classes are designed with this in mind. If you've been suffering from a lack of artistic self-esteem join one of Art Clinics after school classes with your budding artist son, daughter, niece or granddaughter and enjoy the world through different eyes. These classes are intended for the serious minded art student.

Drawing. At the art clinic we often hear complaints from new patients about hand eye coordination being out of whack, with symptoms such as an inability to draw a straight line, or a malfunction of the ability to “see” live subjects. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you may want to immerse yourself in an observational drawing course using techniques that have consistently proven positive results from art clinics around the globe. This four week class is a basic skills class for anyone who would like to improve their drawing capabilities. Open to ages 12- adult.

Watercolor classes. Water is a natural healer; couple that with color therapy and you are on your way to total artistic rejuvenation. Watercolor as a medium is very versatile for all personality types from the very careful to the carefree. This four week course will introduce students to the healing benefits of watercolor. Come and experience the soothing waters.

Printmaking without a Press. . Imagine creating an image and then being able to duplicate it over and over, with either varied of exact results by hand, not on the computer. This four week class is designed to introduce patients to the versatile and healing art of multiples. Printmaking Therapy is a highly recommended remedy in ridding one of inflamed IMC (I'm Not Creative) syndrome. Students will make relief prints using found and made objects, learn to carve their own printing plates as well as other printing possibilities.
