We had an early Thanksgiving

...with family at the Rincon area in Ventura....It was a super low tide during the day....very rare...so that was really fun....

But the best part was getting to see and catch up with the family....I could have chatted for hours more. But we did get in some news, old stories retold and laughs. I always come away feeling happy and proud of our clan. I also know how much the family members that have pasted on would have loved us all being together. Miss you Lisa Mom Dad Steve.... But we all have alot to be thankful for...lots of new babies and all in good health.

Jill, Madison and I had another Thanksgiving today at Madison's daycare....They put on a little sing song (Madison refused to sing for some reason)...lots of video of her saying nooo, shhhh .... and then we ate....It was really cold...55 or so...but really nice to get together with everyone.

Tomorrow we are having one more turkey dinner at Jill and Joe's....

I also just finished one with Danita on free motion sewing...but that was really only a small part. These are both such talented ladies! I have learned and I am learning so many cool things...I just lack time to play!

Queen of Arts was a success!

So many great artists and lots of catching up with friends made this a great event. The weather gods smiled on us and it was beautiful both days. I have pics of all the artists on my Flickr...art nest ....except a couple...the photos weren't good at all...sorry Teri and Sue.
So here is my favorite Queen...Madison.

Jill and I shared a spot. I am not sure how she managed to get any art done but she did! Beautiful journals and her amazing jewelry. She will have some of it on her Etsy site soon.

What are these 2 up to....

This is so cool....

I am soooo busy!

Queen of Arts is fast approaching....Mark your calendars and pray for sun!

I am working on some new things. I have been working on lots of small works...including more Birdman pieces.

I am also taking a free motion online sewing class from Danita in Juarez, Mexico. I love it! I had to get a new foot for my machine but it is really fun to do free motion. Here is a test piece...

Madison is so fun right now. She is playing with her toys more by herself. Having them have conversations with each other and making up songs about things like mac and cheese...She has definite ideas about what she want to wear....daycare says they see this all the time....Not too crazy about anything too scary and likes to shop....Her fave movie is still Cars.....so fun!

stuff...

I have been playing with beads lately...I love mixing them up.....kinda addictive.....

Earl and I went pumpkin hunting with Jill and Madison at the Avila Farm...What a great place. I was pretty packed but still a fun day.

Here is some artwork going on at the studio...Jill with her jewelry and Madison with her coloring. Jill will be in the Queen of Arts show with me this year. She has some of her jill-0 jewelry and some fantastic journals.

I better tell you alittle bit more info...
Queen of Arts is Veteran's weekend at the Elverhoj Museum in Solvang. Fri Nov 12 4 to 7 and Sat. Nov. 13 10 to 5. There are right under 40 artists. It is a beautiful venue and a vary wide variety of art. I will post the post card image soon. I started this show at my house in Ballard and then for the last 3 years it has been at the museum. If you are anywhere near Solvang at that time come check out all the great art!

It was even too hot for the beach...

Madison and I went Monday and we had to stay crammed under the umbrella....We splashed alittle but wasn't wet was hot! We did have some sand fun....This is "Baby Madison Mermaid....I took this with my phone....

But it is always cool at the Art Clinic.....Our new best friend Berta came by and brought her work area cloth. It is so cool! We spent lots of time trying to decide what kind of a project we could make from it. So far we just ripped it up and handed it out....

Also I am the proud owner of Reenie's felted first handspun...She said I could cut it up but...I am not in a hurry to do that...I just LOVE it!
